Sexual Abuse
Children and adults who have experienced sexual abuse need understanding, support, and a safe place to disclose what happened to them. Children who have disclosed abuse need preparation for going to court and an advocate in the court system. I have gone to court to describe trauma, PTSD in children, and what supports would be helpful in the courtroom. I have done court preparation with a young child, which fortunately was not needed as the case settled.
